There’s this running joke on the internet that our pet cats see us as nothing more than their servants. So now, this little misconception has become the internet’s way of poking fun at our feline friends’ tendency of being distant and aloof towards us. But this couldn’t be further from the truth! In fact, some felines can be overly affectionate towards their human(s), like this adorable kitty from Thailand. Meet Jarvis the 6-year-old Scottish Fold for instance: he’s currently making the rounds on the internet after his fur-mother shared images of him ‘claiming’ her husband for himself!

Jarvis is the fur-child of a cattery owning couple in Thailand. Their kitty became an internet star after the photos his fur-mom took of him being extremely clingy towards his fur-dad got featured on the Super Cats Facebook page. As a result, the overly affectionate pet became a viral sensation. In fact, the lovable feline got so famous that some people wanted to buy him from the couple. However, his owner has addressed the offers on her cattery’s Facebook page, Baan Nee Tong Mee Meow, that Jarvis is not, or ever will be, for sale.

This overly affectionate pet cat from Thailand has won thousands of hearts online

So, most of Nasrin’s pictures of Jarvis being overly affectionate are taken at their dining table. Apparently, their pet has developed a habit of turning into a kitty loaf next to his fur-dad. And every time he’s near his beloved fur-dad, he gives Nasrin a rather stern look as though he were saying “He’s mine now, Mom!”. In some instances, Nasrin has caught Jarvis putting his paw on his fur-dad’s arm in a rather possessive way, contentedly cuddling up against him and even using his fur-dad’s arm as a pillow while napping. In other words, it seems like their pet cat has chosen his favorite human! Despite this, Nasrin clarified that she feels no animosity towards Jarvis, and he is, in fact, a good kitty:

“Jarvis is a good cat. He likes to sleep, watch the birds at the window, and play with my husband. Jarvis… he [is] always loving and affectionate with my husband and he acts the same way with me and is friendly with everyone who visits our home.”

And while some breeds prefer to be left alone, Scottish Folds don’t like to be left, so if you’re often out of the house, you may want to consider getting a companion for your pet Scottish Fold to keep it from getting lonely. So, he may glare at his fur-mom, but that’s probably his way of saying ‘this is my time with dad, mom, don’t interrupt!’.

Felines have a tendency of picking a favorite person

It’s no secret among owners that their pets also play favorites. And they’re not shy about it! With this in mind, you may be assuming that Jarvis cosies up to his fur-dad because he gives Jarvis a piece of food from his plate. But this isn’t the case! According to Nasrin, their pet has never tried eating human food… not even fish, even though the couple often have fish included in their meals because they only fed Jarvis pet food. And as you can see from their photos, Jarvis is fixated on his fur-dad, not the food laid out on the table. Now that’s pure affection right there!
