When Edi Okoro decided to propose to his girlfriend Cally Read, he was well aware that timing is everything. He knew he has to wait for the perfect moment to bring out the ring, kneel down in front of her, and pop the question. But he later realized that finding the right moment is no easy feat. He took the ring with him everywhere and had it in his pocket all the time as he tried to look for the opportunity. When Cally almost caught him holding the ring, a brilliant idea suddenly hit him. That’s when he thought of having a little fun by parading the ring in front of her girlfriend without her knowing, and even took photos of it.
Whenever Cally is asleep or when she’s too busy with something, Edi would show the ring and take picture, making sure that she doesn’t notice. Over the span of one month, Edi was able to capture hilarious photos of her unsuspecting girlfriend together with the ring in one frame.

Hiding while parading the ring while his girlfriend is around proved to be a tough challenge for Edi. There were some few close calls when Cally nearly caught him in the act.
“The binoculars. Only because she could have just looked up! Also, walking around with it in my pocket I knocked into her a few times [but] she didn’t notice it was a box.”, he reveals.
Edi shared the story of his funny marriage proposal on Facebook where he documented all scenarios of missed opportunities in photos. He even went more daring by recording some videos of his audacious attempts.

Eventually, Edi finally found the perfect moment to propose. Amazingly, he didn’t get caught. We’ll have to wait for the sequel to this story to find out how he arrived at the perfect moment.
“This engagement turned out more than what I originally intended it to be,” Edi concluded. “I’m just happy that I don’t have to walk around with [the ring] anymore and keep it a secret!”
