Stephanie Crochets Full Body Halloween Costumes For Her Children And The Results Are Awesome

Halloween nights are never complete without tricks or treats. Of course, the usual stars in these activities are adorable children strutting around in their spooky costumes. Well, we know for sure that dressing kids up are always a fun thing to do. And this talented mom has taken it to the next level by personally creating crochet Halloween costumes for her children. These eerie yet unique handmade ensembles will surely make Stephanie Pokorny’s sons the cool kids on the block.

Taught by her Grandma, Stephanie has been crocheting since she was 16. The craft has stayed with her since then. And each year, she crochets full-body Halloween costumes for her kids. What makes it even more interesting is that she creates them from scratch, with no actual patterns to follow. Her kids usually come up with their own costume ideas, which she then brings to life. Meanwhile, she also takes inspiration from classic horror movies from the 80s or the latest toy or movie at the time.

Here are some of Stephanie’s fascinating creations that are totally on point for this season.

According to Stephanie, one costume takes about 25–40 hours to finish. That said, it normally takes her roughly two weeks to produce a single piece. In addition, she also revealed her inspiration behind costume-making.

“My mother made my costumes for me as a child, and I remember being beyond excited to wear them. It brings me such joy to be able to do the same for my children!”

Stephanie and her family are from Cleveland, Ohio, where it can get quite cold during the spooky season. As such, her hand-crocheted costumes also come in handy in keeping her young ones warm and cozy while trick-or-treating. Unfortunately, these amazing pieces are not for sale. However, you may opt to avail of some of her crochet patterns instead. You may check out her site, Crochetverse, where she also shares free crochet patterns and tutorials.
