We could all probably agree that cruising on a yacht is already a luxurious activity in itself. However, Italian designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini of Lazzarini Design Studio has taken it a notch higher with a new luxury electric yacht concept. Aptly named Avanguardia which means “vanguard” in English, this 137-meter swan-shaped superyacht is the first of its kind.

It features a sophisticated build with a stunning layered design, signifying the waterfowl’s feathers and wings. Similar to a real-life swan, this superyacht also boasts a sleek, long neck that can stretch down towards the water. But the ultimate highlight of the design is the swan’s head. Not only does it serve as the yacht’s control tower, but it doubles as an auxiliary 50-foot tender as well.

The yacht’s convertible neck makes it possible to adjust the position of the control tower. In addition, the neck also houses a set of steps that connects to the dual-purpose control tower. So, passengers who wish to transfer to the tender may do so by simply descending the stairs on the neck. The tender is also detachable, so it can perfectly stand on its own.

Powered by a Rolls-Royce jet engine, Avanguardia can reach speeds of up to 18 knots. Spread across five decks, it can accommodate up to 60 passengers on board. In terms of amenities, this superyacht also doesn’t fail to impress. Passengers can take a dip in the pool that sits on its upper deck. The superyacht also features two helipads, a side garage and a rear deck port that can fit two Lazzarini-designed jet capsules.

Of course, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that such an ambitious concept would entail a fortune. In fact, the design studio has estimated the construction cost to be at $500 million. So, it would take an investor with very deep pockets to turn this swan-shaped yacht concept into a reality.
