In 2019, Dairy Queen mixed together their 2018 holiday Blizzard flavors to create what was, indisputably the perfect holiday treat – the Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard! The season-appropriate, sweet and minty flavors made it a winter must-have. This festive Blizzard received many rave reviews during its time on the soft-serve ice cream royalty’s menu. Unfortunately, the Peppermint Blizzard was only available for month. So if you were particularly sad about it disappearing from the menu or didn’t get the chance to try it last year, we’ve got wonderful news: IT’S BACK!
As soon as December rolled in, Dairy Queen wasted no time in introducing (or should we say, re-introducing) their Blizzard of the Month. Their announcement video featured a candy cane and cup of marshmallow-topped hot cocoa dancing while holding miniature version of the Blizzard inside a giant version of the treat. It’s easily one of the most adorable promotional clips we’ve seen for the season! But now, you’re probably curious whether the treat has something new to offer or not…

Dairy Queen’s Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard treat is back for a second time
Well, the short answer to this question is…no. Dairy Queen hasn’t changed a single thing about their Peppermint Blizzard. The treat will still comprise of DQ’s signature soft-serve ice cream that’s blended with cocoa fudge with candy cane pieces and chocolate chunks mixed in. And just like last time, the holiday Blizzard treat will also come topped with a dollop of whipped cream covered with candy cane pieces.

Several Dairy Queen locations have already begun sharing photos and videos of the festive treat on Instagram. The treat is available from mini to large sizes. And just like last year, the treat will only be available for a limited time. So if you missed out on this perfectly frosty treat last year, don’t bide your time!
