Tiny magnets were ordered online to go on the needle and coasters.

Four were glued in a row to the point of the needle. Tape ensured they wouldn’t stick together.

Danish oil was used to add a nice finish to the piece.

Coasters were made from solid pieces of scrap wood. A hole was drilled through the middle and then a magnet was placed inside. These coasters would be used to pull the compass needle.

What a talent ‘walterrobot’ has! It was also noted that the table was later intended to be a gift for their grandmother. If it went ahead we’re sure she was absolutely thrilled with it! We would be interested to know what mark this awesome table got? Hopefully a high one as that’s what it deserves.
