In 2017, Velocity Motorcars took us back to the future with their re-imagination of the Delorean with a custom VW bus. Because let’s face it, as cool as Doc Brown’s ride was, space just isn’t one of its strong suits. In comparison, the 1967 VW bus makes for a more spacious vehicle perfect for road trips with friends and family. And so, with these two design characteristics in mind, Brian Wallin and his team turned fiction into reality. They outfitted the vintage van with gull-wing doors and a Flux Capacitator to give it that futuristic edge.

Nashville-based Velocity Motorcars boasts an inventory of high-end and sometimes rare, used cars. As of writing, the exotic used car dealer’s collection currently features rare sports cars all the way back from the 1960s to sleek, modern models from the world’s most renowned makers. From the 1964 Mercedes Benz 230 SL Convertible to the 2018 Lamborghini Huracan, their showroom’s definitely a gear head’s paradise.

The custom VW bus will make Marty McFly and Doc Brown proud

Velocity Motorcars sure came through with their vision of creating a passenger-friendly recreation of the Delorean. The van looks elegantly futuristic with its sleek gray exterior. Meanwhile, the interior features an eye-popping color palatte of orange and yellow inspired by the groovy ’70s era. These two contrasting color themes seamlessly combine past and future. In addition, a large screen has also been installed for the viewing pleasure of the vehicle’s backseat passengers.

They’ve also installed a fully functioning Flux Capacitor, which, according to Doc Brown, is what makes time travel possible. At the time of its introduction, the custom bus inspired by Back to the Future had a price tag of $89,995. It’s no longer up for sale, but we’re guessing that whoever got this is definitely traveling through time in style.
