Cereal-flavored treats are officially the newest snack craze right now. And Kit Kat is about to dive into the trend with the new Kit Kat Fruity Cereal. The year 2020 is about to end and obviously, you don’t need us to tell you how frustrating this year was. Thankfully, our favorite snack brands didn’t disappoint us as we’ve been spoiled with new exciting offers to comfort us during these troubled times.
Kit Kat, for instance, has made our year a bit sweeter with their new flavors including the Apple Pie, Birthday Cake, Lemon Crisp, Cookies ‘n Cream and the Witch’s Brew. We thought the brand had wrapped up their new flavors for now, but there’s this rumor going around that they will be dropping another new treat: the Fruity Cereal. So it appears that our favorite wafer bar confection has joined in the craze. Earlier this year, several snack companies began incorporating cereals into their products. There’s Edy’s/Dreyer’s Ice Cream and the Frankford Candy Bar to name a few.

In summer 2020, Instagram account @junkfoodleaks_ shared a pixelated photo of the Fruity Cereal bar along with the caption saying that the new flavor is coming in 2021. The Instagram account did reveal that all photos and captions in the page are fake and speculative. However, this is the same Instagram account that first leaked the news about the Kit Kat Birthday Cake, Reese’s Potato Chips, and even the return of the Dunkaroos. And all of these rumors did come true.
Just recently, Instagram account @tmc_reviews posted a clearer photo of the rumored Kit Kat. The Instagram account also announced that the limited edition flavor is expected to come out in June 2021. The upcoming flavor features purple packaging with a pink Kit Kat with specks of rainbow colors. It also features a bowl of fruity cereals that look exactly like Froot Loops. But we’re not quite sure if this is a collaboration between Hershey’s and Kellogg’s. We’ll have to wait until next year to learn more about this interesting treat.
