Jisup Lee began developing his compact semi submarine design in 1997 and finally launched the invention in 2008 through his company, Raonhaje Inc. The hybrid water vehicle became known as the EGO Submarine, and it is the first of its kind. Sure, some yachts come with glass floors that let you watch the marine life swimming beneath you. But Lee’s EGO Submarine lets you get the full immersive experience without disturbing or destroying the underwater environment! The EGO Submarine has been showcased at international boat shows over the years. It’s also been awarded the REDDOT Design Award in 2013.

Throughout the years, we’ve learned that recreational diving is a contributing factor in the destruction of the marine environment. The EGO Submarine looks very much like a typical flat boat. But it’s the only boat of with a submerged compartment big enough for two. The floating hulls are spacious enough for lying on so you can get your tan. Raonhaje Inc. also assures us that learning to pilot the compact semi submarine won’t take more than 5 minutes thanks to a wireless remote control. It’s also worth nothing that piloting the submarine must only be done on the surface to ensure you and your vessel’s safety.
In comparison with other water leisure vehicles on the market, the EGO Submarine is eco-friendly. Raonhaje Inc. wrote that their compact semi-submarine has “100% electric motors”, so it won’t emit any harmful pollutants in the air or waters. Furthermore, since the motors are electric, you can look forward to having a peaceful journey across the water, since it won’t produce any loud noises as you travel. The EGO Submarine is sure to deliver a smooth sail, as it can reach speeds of up to 8 knots through the power of its 12 8-volt batteries.

At the moment, the EGO Submarine isn’t readily available for public purchase yet. In fact, it’s only available to elites and governmental agencies for now.
