What’s the best way to enjoy a box of pizza? Boston Pizza surely knows how. By placing a tiny pizza table and chairs inside its pizza boxes, it adds another layer of fun to our favorite pizza. We usually find a tiny white plastic standing right at the center of the pie. It is called a pizza saver and it serves to protect the box from touching the pizza and ruining it along the way. Since the pizza saver itself looks like a miniature table, Boston Pizza decided to complete the patio ensemble by adding two mini chairs.
“Patio season is a big deal for Canadians,” Boston Pizza’s senior director of marketing, Adrian Fuoco said. “This was all about creating something fun that was part of our larger patio season initiative. Ultimately, we found a way to bring together the two things we’re passionate about — patios and pizza.”
And we couldn’t agree more. The tiny pizza table and chairs on top of the pizza are indeed refreshing features that would get us more excited to open the box. The mini pizza patio was a part of the restaurant’s campaign and it has gone viral ever since. We can say that the ad campaign was a huge success and the minds behind it are incredibly genius. Plus, the tiny pizza table and chairs are food-safe and reusable. You can use them as topping ornaments for other foods or you can use it as a miniature home décor, whichever you prefer.
Boston Pizza has yet to announce how long this ad campaign would last. But people are hoping that the restaurant continues to add the cute patio set inside its pizza boxes. Should other pizza chains follow suit and ditch their boring pizza savers with a cutesy patio set? We’re not so sure about that but we’re having our fingers crossed. We definitely need these tiny pizza table and chairs.
