The holders are 3D printed with polylactic acid (PLA) on an FDM 3D printer. As per the seller, PLA is “a biodegradable plastic made from sugar cane or cornstarch.” So, to prevent warpage, avoid placing it inside a hot car or under direct sunlight.

Each set includes four separate parts—a top dome, two shoulders and a bottom body. All you have to do is place your Echo Dot in the middle of the dome and the body. Afterward, snap the shoulders on each side to complete the look of your own personal droid. And what’s even more amazing is that the dome actually has openings that show the ring light of your speaker. So, when your speaker lights up, it will look just like the real R2-D2 straight from the movie.
