    The name ‘ninja’ was used to describe practitioners of ninjutsu, a historical Japanese military tactics of unconventional warfare and espionage. In Japan, espionage dates back as far as the Asuka Period under the reign of Prince Shotoku (572 – 622). Under this discipline, children were trained to become spies and assassins.
