There’s no denying that the sudden comeback of Dunkaroos is easily one of the biggest surprises this year. And while we ‘90s kids collectively rejoiced at the return of this long-lost snack, that wasn’t the only surprise the iconic brand had in store for us. On November 11th, the brand took us all by surprise by announcing they will release a sugar cookie dough. Obviously, we’re beside ourselves with happiness thanks to this delicious development!
The cookies first appeared in snack aisles in 1988. But it wasn’t until the ‘90s that the snack became a must-have in everyone’s lunch boxes. Unfortunately, its popularity began to decline in the early 2000s, and that led to the snack’s discontinuation in 2012. Needless to say, hearts were broken. So news of the brand’s impending comeback was an absolute treat, specially since this year has been full of really unfortunate events.

Dunkaroos will be offering sugar cookie dough alongside their classic snack
With the new sugar cookie dough, you can choose to bake 6 large cookies or 24 bite-sized cookies instead. And in an effort to stay true to brand, the pack also includes vanilla frosting and rainbow sprinkles that remind us so much of the original snack packs. You can use the frosting and sprinkles to decorate your cookies. Clearly, Betty Crocker is going to great lengths to amend things with us. We’ve got a feeling that we’ll just end up dipping the cookies in the frosting though, because that’s the only way we enjoy the treat…
