Talented Makeup Artist Tal Peleg Creates Adorable Designs Using Her Eyelids As The Canvas
There are unlimited ways to express your artistic creativity and the only limitation is your imagination. Israel-based artist Tal Peleg combines her passion for art and makeup. By using her own eyelids as a canvas, she creates creative eye makeup that is so unique compared to most of the makeup looks we see. So, this artist shows that you can use everyday things such as your existing cosmetics to help you unleash the artist in you.
Peleg has mesmerized everyone with her creative makeup because she creates fantastical drawings on her own eyelids using eyeshadows, brushes, liners, glitter and rhinestones. Her work is mostly inspired by animals, nature and pop culture characters. She often cleverly incorporates her eyebrow and eyelashes into her drawings. One of her works, for example, depicts a black cat drawn on the crease of her upper eyelid with her eyebrow acting as the cat’s long tail.
Artist Creates Creative Eye Makeup Using Her Eyelids As A Canvas
Peleg started with the creative eye makeup back in 2013. She began with abstract drawings which eventually developed into figurative paintings. After she completed her first figurative creation, the black cat with purple yarn, she knew a new door of opportunity had opened for her. So, she began to improve her skills by accentuating details on her makeup art. She started drawing human figures, animals and pop culture references on her eyelids. Her amazing makeup art grabbed the attention of the internet. And her social media followers were always looking forward to her next creation.
“First I need to think about an idea, and then I sketch it on paper.” Peleg shares. “After that, I start to paint it on the eye using makeup. It takes about 3-5 hours, depending on how detailed it is. After I finish, I take many photos of it (eventually I pick the best one) and take the makeup off.”
Peleg Created Makeup Designs For Her Followers For 5 Years
The artistic makeup artist also reveals that she hardly ever wears makeup in real life. She only wears it for photos and when there’s a special occasion. For five years, Peleg never disappointed her followers with her creative eye makeup. The year after she became a mom to an adorable baby boy, she decided to pursue a different path and retired from creating makeup art.
“I felt like after five years, I got a bit tired of it, and the need ‘to deliver’ to my many followers was sometimes too stressful. I got to the point where I felt like I was not creating from a pure artistic place anymore, like I should have.”
However, Peleg is now working as an illustrator and has recently branched into sculpting. Because of this she hasn’t made any creative eye makeup for two years now. So, we’re bringing you her makeup masterpieces to recognize her cosmetic artistry. You can follow the artist on Instagram to see her latest projects.
