Street art has evolved as a genre of art and this transformation wasn’t only influenced by the digital space. While many street artists prefer to stun the public with impressive 3D murals, Polish street artist NeSpoon makes a name for herself by dressing up urban buildings with elegant lace patterns.
Inspired by the delicate web-like design of the traditional ornamental fabric, she lends the beautiful embellishment to the building façade, adding a touch of finesse to the urban setting. Working on commissions, NeSpoon has traveled across the world to transform ordinary buildings into exquisite works of art. Her latest project was done in the beautiful city of Callac in French Brittany for the In Cité, Festival écologique d’Arts Urbains. For this particular mural, NeSpoon picks the 19th-century French needle lace pattern as her inspiration.

Just like most of her mural creations, the exquisite lace patterns on the walls might look the artist sprayed paint on stencils. But everything was done freehand with nothing but spray cans in her hands. For 6 days, she freehand-painted the façade of the building and brought it to life with mesmerizing floral motifs and lovely netlike lace patterns. And she did all that in the cold rain and wind.
