BoldB designer Britta Boeckmann creates sand and resin jewelry featuring the beautiful landscapes of Australia’s oceans. Hailing from Germany, the artist has been handcrafting such jewelry using real beach sand plus blue resin. Each of the pieces in her Aqua Collection would look like a tiny beach. And it’s wearable! Boeckmann first fell in love with creating art when she was yet a child. Her father owned a hardware store back then. So, she had access to a lot of artistic tools and materials. Needless to say, she had plenty of opportunities to explore her creative ideas.
Soon, Boeckmann’s passion evolved into a career in Industrial Design. When she completed her internship with a British company on jewelry design, she wanted to explore more. She imagined the possibilities of designing wearable accessories. Since then, she hasn’t looked back.
In 2013, Britta Boeckmann migrated to Australia. There, she began to tinker and play with wood, working with a local group of woodworkers! Through this experience, Britta learned many different techniques that allowed her to craft her unique jewelry.
Taking inspiration from nature, the now BoldB designer has been able to craft various sand and resin jewelry. She has combined scraps of timbers with many colorful resins. You’ll spot metal pigments, some bonded beach sand, and ultramarine blue resin from her amazing crafts! These ocean elements come together to pay homage to striking shorelines of beautiful Australia.
