Untranslatable Words Turned Into Illustrations By Marija Tiurina

It is currently estimated by the Global Language Monitor that the English language comprises of 1,025,109.8 words (not sure what that .8 could be!) All this considered, there are still words which appear in other languages which English speakers have no specific word for. These words are almost always used descriptively, for situations and feelings in particular.

Cleverly, Marija Tiurina, a UK-based illustrator, has decided to create a new series named 'Untranslatable Words' which clearly depicts these different-language words in the form of beautiful illustrations. Check out her work below and increase your word power!
