John Harris from Youngstown, Ohio shared his splendid creation on the Facebook page Older Artists. It was an English Tudor dollhouse handcrafted in 1:12 scale. On his post, Harris explained how he built the miniature project and what inspired him to do it. People were moved by his story and impressed by his amazing creation at the same time.

The beautiful dollhouse featured the defining qualities of Tudor-style homes – brick exteriors, steeply pitched roof, half-timbering, beautiful stonework, and leaded glass windows. The interior of the miniature house features 3 levels with the attic included. There are 3 rooms in each floor. The first level contains the dining room and the kitchen, the second level contains the bedroom and the studio while the third level contains the bathroom.

The English Tudor dollhouse flaunts impressive details, both the exterior and its interior. Harris wrote on his post that he made the project in the 1960s for his elderly mother. But when she passed away, he stored away the incomplete piece in the garage. It was there for several years until he finally decided to complete it. The miniature piece took him about 5 years to finish. And when he’s done with it, he decided to share pics of his completed work on the Older Artists Facebook page.

People on Facebook were amazed by the intricate details of the charming Tudor-style dollhouse. From the woodwork and furnishings to the beamed ceiling and faux stone floor, even the smallest detail screams superb craftsmanship that can only be achieved through deep dedication and tremendous skills.

“I don’t know if this would be considered appropriate for this site but some years ago I made a dollhouse for my elderly mother. When she passed away I lost heart and put the incomplete project in storage in the garage. At some point I decided to complete it and worked for about 5 years on it. It is a handcrafted 1:12 scale English Tudor and I found that I liked working with miniatures, especially the detailed oak paneling, brick and stucco and stone floor in the center hall. It was sad that mom didn’t get to enjoy it.”, he wrote on the post.
