This less than sensible (but totally fearless) raccoon had a lucky escape when it jumped straight onto the back of an alligator lurking in shallow water. Amazingly, the moment was captured on camera by Richard Jones, who was out walking with his family in Florida when his son inadvertently startled the raccoon, causing it to scramble away and end up on the alligator's back. 'I snapped a lucky picture right when the gator slipped into the water and before the raccoon jumped off and scurried away. Without the context you'd think the raccoon was hitching a ride across the river. Pretty amazing.' Amazing, indeed!
