In His Spare Time, Samuel Uses His Photoshop Skills To Bring Disney Characters Into His Life

Disney animated movies have been a huge part of everyone’s childhood. And at some point, we had wished that our favorite Disney characters were real. How we have wished to go with Aladdin on a magic carpet ride? Or fight alongside Mulan in her final battle against Shan Yu? Or dance with Snow White and the seven dwarfs while singing The Silly Song?

As silly as it sounds now that we’re adults, we did imagine ourselves living in the fantastical world of Disney as a kid. Until harsh reality knocked some sense into us and made us realize that this is nothing but a silly pipe dream. However, this man found a way to distort reality and make his childhood dream come true. Digital artist and primary school teacher Samuel Manzanera, aka Samuel MB, uses Photoshop to mix fantasy and reality by making photo edits of himself hanging out with Disney characters. With digital photo manipulation, he places some of his favorite cartoon characters into his photos and lives out fantastical adventures with his iconic 2D friends.

To make it more realistic, he edits his illustrious circle of friends into his typical routines at home. Watching TV on the couch with the Dalmatians, cleaning the kitchen with Snow White, enjoying a pool party with Hercules, putting up Christmas decors with Belle, playing video games with Ariel, and many more. He also has some impressive before-and-after recreated childhood photos to make it seem like he has been growing up with these fictional people.

His fascination with mixing fiction and reality started when he saw the 1988 comedy film Who Framed Roger Rabbit. As a kid, the movie stirred up his active imagination and began visualizing how it’s like living with cartoons in real life. When he learned how to use Photoshop years later, he finally was able to make this vision come true, at least on photographs.

Although most of his Photoshop creations feature typical indoor activities, he also takes his fanciful adventures to the outside world along with his iconic friends. Swimming in the beach with Flounder, relaxing on a lake with Baloo, pranking sleeping Alice in the woods, getting chased on the street by Cruella de Vil, and more.

While most of his Photoshop creations depict his everyday life with Disney characters, he also features other popular fictional characters including Spongebob Squarepants, Homer Simpson, the Minions, Charizard, Toothless, and even horror girl Sadako.
