NASA Space Horticulturist Scott Kelly Grows First Ever Flower In Space

 

Astronauts who prefer fresh food over the typical freeze-dried space stuff will be glad to hear that the little known field of space horticulture has just taken a massive leap forward. A recent attempt to grow the first ever flower in space by NASA's Scott Kelly was deemed an overwhelming success. Last year, Kelly managed to grow lettuce on board the International Space Station. Now, he's utilized his zero gravity vegetable garden to grow Zinnias, a type of edible flower found in salads. Take a look!
