Shirin Abedinirad has created the 'Heaven on Earth' and 'Evocation' projects. For 'Heaven on Earth', she uses mirrors to enhance the light and space on cement stairs. Her idea for the project came from Persian culture, where using polished stones and mirrors to expand the viewers perception of the surrounding environment has been commonplace for many centuries. The project gets it's name from the beautiful reflections of the blue sky above the mirrored stairs, which gives the impression of a pool of light. Abedinirad feels the project enhances the spirituality of the viewer.
Her 'Evocation' project is inspired by the lack of water in the desert. Her mirror installations give the impression of water pools in the sand and again, bring an element of magical spirituality to the arid landscape. Check out her photos below and enjoy.
