Call us biased, but when it comes to dessert crossovers, we definitely have our money on premier brands. And in this case, that’s Dove Chocolate. There’s no doubt that the brand makes seriously decadent chocolate treats. From tablet bars, bite-sized treats, ice cream and gelato, the brand is finally adding some pudding mixes into their offerings. And as always, they’re “silky smooth”!
The new pudding and pie filling mixes come in four delectable variants: Milk Chocolate, Peanut Butter Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate and Bourbon Vanilla Dark Chocolate. As you might have guessed, they’re patterned after some of the brand’s existing flavors. So, if you’ve loved them in the tablet bar form, you’d likely fall for their new form once again. And if you’re anything like us, you’ll probably give up picking a favorite because that’s just impossible.
Unfortunately, Dove has yet to make an announcement regarding the new dessert’s official release. But thanks to Jel Sert, a family-owned food and beverage manufacturer, we can be sure that they really do exist. Plus, we now have an idea of what the packaging looks like. So, better keep a copy of the images in your phone for your reference. Who knows, they might be sitting on the shelves the next time you go on a grocery run.
According to Jel Sert’s website, each box contains 86 grams, enough to make four servings. To make the pudding, simply add the mix to two cups of cold milk in a medium bowl. Then, use a wire whisk or an electric mixer to beat the mixture at a low speed for two minutes. Lastly, pour the mixture into mini dessert bowls and refrigerate for five minutes. If you prefer a firmer consistency, you can leave it in the fridge for 30 minutes or so.
Meanwhile, if you’re using the mix as a pie filling, keep in mind that the same ratio applies. Again, use two cups of cold milk for a single pack. Afterward, beat the mixture at a low speed for only one minute this time. Finally, pour the mixture into an eight-inch crumb crust and refrigerate for at least an hour or until set.
Indeed, the best part about Dove Chocolate’s new delectable dessert is that there’s no single way to indulge in it. Whether you make it into a pudding or a pie filling, you’re certainly in for some chocolatey goodness. So, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for any possible sightings!
