If you spill coffee on the stove top, you are likely to simply clean it up, rather than think of its potential artistic merit. Not Vanni Mangoni, however. The artist liked the idea of making art from a mistake, which is how the below series of oven top coffee-spill art came into being. He writes about his work… 'the alchemy of this process is to bring meaning and purpose to something that apparently went wrong'. We wonder how long it was before he washed the stove top, after creating his wonderful works of art? Would be such a shame to see it fade away! You can watch Vanni in action during the video at the bottom of this post.
