Becky Marshall and her family had what she described as a 'weird windowless room with no purpose' in their house. So, they decided to give it a purpose and convert it into a large pantry! However, the room's current floor was covered in cheap, boring and worn carpet but the family wanted something much nicer for their new conversion. Amazingly, they managed to transform the flooring into a wood lover's delight using free blocks of wood they got from a pallet rehabber, meaning the whole transformation cost them less than $100 in total! Check it out!

A step was covered with smaller, thinner pieces of wood.

Foam floor insulating roll was purchased and rolled out, with the blocks placed over it and nailed in with a nail gun.

The 'grout' was made by mixing fine sawdust, gloss oil based polyurethane and mineral spirits.

However, they messed up the grouting and ended up having to hand scrape the whole floor. Oops!

Then went on two coats of the gloss oil based polyurethane.
