When Maryam Gamal ElGhonemy's brother gave her a beautiful notebook, she just knew she had to find a use for it. Due to various issues in her life, the notebook quickly became her companion and her confessor. Maryam poured her anger and pain into that book… it was her therapy. As an individual, Maryam is socially awkward therefore naming the notebook 'The Awkward Scrapbook' was only natural for her. She filled her book with quotes that she discovered online and drew illustrations to accompany them as she hates books without pictures.
