Studies have shown that spending some time alone is crucial to one’s growth and personal development. Sadly, it’s hard to do so when you’re always around people who don’t know how to respect your personal space. Well, these tentacle earplugs might just be what you need to keep others from bugging you.

Crafted by Japanese glass blower Hirano Genki, these eerie ear accessories come in the form of an octopus limb. Each piece features a glass body with a rubber ear tip. The ear tip is removable, so you can replace it with one that suits the shape of your ear canal better.

These eerie tentacle earplugs create an illusion of an octopus living inside your head

Just like regular earplugs, they’re designed to protect your ears from any external noise. More than that, they also do a great job at creating an illusion of an octopus living inside your head! Well, if you were to ask us, that should be enough of a reason for people to avoid approaching you.

The earplugs were exclusively available at the Iso Market Festival held from May 3rd to 4th. Unfortunately, it seems like the Kitakami-based artist has no plans of mass-producing his quirky creation just yet. The artist has also recently taken to his Twitter page to warn his supporters against counterfeits that have surfaced online.

For now, you may follow him on Twitter and Instagram to keep up to date with his latest glass masterpieces. While you’re at it, check out these amazing octopus-inspired objects as well!
