Artist Meghan Maconochie Uses Pencil Shavings To Create Her Beautiful Works Of Art

Meghan Maconochie is a South African schoolteacher who creates pop culture images from pencil shavings. First she draws the image onto paper then applies the shavings layer by layer. Sharpening all her pencils by hand rather than via an electric sharpener, it takes time and talent to create these beautiful pieces. The only problem the artist has with her creations is that they won't stay fixed to their paper base and she ends up throwing each one away after photographing it.
