Marine Coutroutsios Makes Paper Art Inspired By Australian Birds

When Marine Coutroutsios moved to Australia, she was struck by how different the wildlife was to that of her native France. What caught her eye most of all, were the bright and colorful birds that could be found everywhere, even in the middle of cities! Armed with a guide to Australian birds found in a local library, Marine started making this gorgeous abstract paper art inspired by the nation's birds. Even though they're not literally representations of the birds, you can imagine what the bird each one is based on would look like, in all it's bright-plumed glory. Let's take a look.
