We love innovation and creativity here at Awesome Inventions, and this artist certainly displays both those traits. Nikolai Tolstyh creates amazing works of art, by cutting out animal silhouette shapes from paper, and then photographing them against a natural background. The clean lines of the silhouettes are extremely striking against backgrounds such as flowers, fall colored leaves and logs. It's such a simple idea, but it works beautifully. It really shows how powerful contrast can be, from the juxtaposition of the stark white paper and the natural background that Nikolai places his silhouettes against.
