Artist Jim Darling creates beautiful landscape paintings with a difference. He paints them as though the viewer is looking at them through the window of an airplane. First of all he uses layered wood to make the window and then he uses this as a frame in which to paint his landscapes. There's something wonderful and a little bit terrifying about looking down at the world through a plane window, and Darling's paintings manage to evoke this feeling. Let's have a look!
