Irma Gruenholz’s Creates Awesome Hand-Sculpted Clay Portraits

If somebody made a figure out of clay usually you'd call it a sculpture, or perhaps even an ornament, but in the case of artist Irma Gruenholz, her creations are more like portraits or illustrations. That's because she doesn't stop at just making her clay people, she also meticulously paints, stages and photographs them to create a finished image that could be mistaken for a painting. Thus, her pieces are more like portraits of her models, than just the clay themselves. For some of her creations, Irma even makes adorably tiny clay accessories, such as a whole kitchen and fruit and veg that you'll see below. We think Irma's work is truly awesome! Check it out!
