'Barbie' isn't your average doll. She's nothing less than a global phenomenon and has been for decades. In recent years, however, her creator, toy giant 'Mattel', has attracted increasing amounts of criticism from people who think Barbie's ridiculously unrealistic figure encourages girls to grow up with a negative body image. Mattel has always defended Barbie's teeny waist. Yet, on January 28th they appeared to take it on board, with the release of seven new dolls!
