Have your tissues at the ready, because we've got a bit of an emotional story for you today. It all started with Mr. and Mrs. Kuroki, a husband and wife who lived a happy life on a farm in rural Japan. The couple raised two kids and were perfectly content in life. Mrs. Kuroki especially loved being outdoors in nature. But then, Mrs. Kuroki noticed some changes in her vision, and in just a matter of days she completely lost her sight due to complications with her diabetes. She soon became withdrawn and depressed, hardly leaving the house at all, and her husband became increasingly concerned. Mr. Kuroki thought hard about what he could do to cheer up his wife. She loved the natural world, but though she couldn't see it, she could still smell it! So, over the course of two years, her husband planted more than two thousand highly fragrant flowers on the land surrounding their house. It was just the thing to cheer Mrs. Kuroki up and now she often spends her days outside with her husband, enjoying their fragrant flower garden.
