You could easily be forgiven for thinking these aquatic animals are the real deal however Keng Lye has painted them layer by layer onto resin. The Singapore artist has aptly named the series 'Alive Without Breath' as his creations are so incredibly lifelike. It's as though these creatures have been frozen in time, ready to become animated again at any minute. He gets the 3D effect above the 'water' for works such as his octopus (shown below) by sculpting with gel. This guy has one amazing talent!
