Photographers Edoardo Delille and Gabriele Galimberti wanted to show the soul of sport in Rio. They decided that if sport and physicality are so often elevated practically to the rank of religion, then it made sense to photograph participants as they looked up to the heavens. Which is where they got the idea to take photographs of sports people from the lofty heights of a drone, flying above. From synchronized swimmers to surfers, the duo captured all types of sports people in Rio. Check out their work below!
