Duncan Meerding is a legally blind furniture designer, based in Tasmania. Having 5% vision, the designer creates incredibly tactile pieces, and these cracked log lamps are just bursting with light. Meerding has a passion for the outback, and it is no surprise then that much of his work is nature-inspired.
Meerding works with a talking tape measure, and has learned to hear when his chisels are not cutting as he would want them to. He has sourced everything for his lamps from sustainable materials, and wishes the viewer to connect with nature and to remember to preserve it when viewing or buying his pieces.
