What Today’s Superheroes Would Have Looked Like In The 16th Century

 

Created without the use of Photoshop, French photographer Sacha Goldberger has created the mesmerizing 'Super Flamands' series. These quirky and thought provoking photos reimagine the modern world's most famous and infamous superheroes and villians as Flemish portrait models from the 16th century.

Portraying each character in bygone dress and ensuring that they were still recognizable was a challenge in itself, one which the artist worked on along with his grandmother for five whole years! His attention to detail is incredible, from the initial sourcing of lookalike models to his ability to remain faithful to the period in history he was aiming to recreate.
