    Some cups collect condensate, or give off heat which can both cause a ring on a desk. This is a concept akin to using a coaster. Not quite sure why so many are attacking this thing.

      In truth, I can see 50 ways I would hit that thing – ways that wouldn't happen if it WERE on the desk. I am sure it works for some people but I am just as confident I would slide my chair and unclip it or get up and catch my shirt on it… I do that now with normal stuff on my desk.
